Today we are a fly on the wall in a very special yoga class. In this class we witness a connection between human beings revealing new possibilities. We stretch our bodies and notice how caring for ourselves gives us strength. We breathe deep and meditate on how many roles we embody, (caregiver, advocate, therapist…) and wonder how our role as MOM might be most potent and desired.

Our story is from Cindy Kaplan, whose daughter, Mira, suffered a brain injury during birth, which caused spastic quadriparxsis and microcephaly. Cindy wrote a memoir about parenting Mira and today we hear a story from that memoir.

Cindy Kaplan has a Masters degree in psychology and works as a certified Conscious Parenting Coach and a Soul Care Coach. She has trained and worked as a yoga practitioner for children with special needs, and a family therapist. She is the co-founder of an online community, Evolving Together, which offers courses and support, as well as daily practices from yoga and breath work, to nutrition, neuro-movement, and listening therapy for caregivers of differently abled children.
