It's 1945, and World War II is about to come to an abrupt end at the hands of an atomic bomb over Hiroshima.
The US naval vessel responsible for delivering the radioactive uranium, would make port, and then head for the Philippines--where a Japanese submarine would have the vessel completely submerged in twelve minutes with a brutal complement of torpedoes.
This is their story, and an aftermath with an even more cruel end--highlighting the transcendent nature of honor, and the dark responsibility it can heap upon a person.
