Host Bio:
My health journey began when my six-year-old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Let me tell you, I was SCARED. So, I threw myself into studying and learning all about nutrition, and I made some big changes for the sake of my kids, my family, and myself. Then, in 2019 I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. To say that that was a HUGE wake-up call is an understatement. I realized my life was centered on caring for everyone else (my kids, family, clients, etc.) except myself. Stress, lack of self-care, and not listening to my body’s messages was literally making me sick and could have killed me.
I realized that if I didn’t take care of myself, how could I care for anyone else? You can’t pour from an empty cup. However, I am happy to say that today I am completely cancer-free, and my life is so much richer than I could ever have imagined. Not only do I have my health and energy back, but I also have more strength, joy, and confidence! Because of the changes I made, radical things began to happen. I went back to school to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, received my training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and became a certified personal trainer through the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America. It’s my passion to share what I have learned with you so that you can do the same.
