Throne of Glass: Ch 8-14 Spoiler-Free Deep Dive | Lavish Libraries, Champion's Challenge, & Mysterious Murders

Welcome back to the Booked on Fantasy Podcast for episode two of our Throne of Glass deep dive! Today's episode covers chapters 8-14.

Celaena tours the castle with Chaol, where she discovers strange marks and a hauntingly eerie clock tower—but to her delight she also finds a breathtaking library.  Celaena and the rest of the champions meet with the king to review the rules of the tournament, and the competition officially begins. Celaena spars with Chaol, who wins by tripping her. Despite this, their relationship begins to warm, showing signs of mutual respect and a budding friendship. The first challenge is a fun run, which Celaena successfully completes, but not before retching. Meanwhile, Celaena meets Princess Nehemia, and the two quickly become fast friends, bonding over their shared distrust of Rifthold and the royal court. Celaena throws herself into training for the tournament, determined to win her freedom. However, her focus is disrupted when a gruesome discovery is made—one of the champions has been murdered.
