Every night, when the lights go out, she feels it—the cold, creeping presence that shouldn’t be there. At first, it was just a flicker in the corner of her eye, a dark smudge on the ceiling that vanished when she turned to look. But now, it stays. It stays on the ceiling. She calls it The Upside Down Man. Her mother tells her it’s just her imagination, that shadows can’t hurt her. But they don’t see what she sees.
