It was our sincere pleasure having the co-creator, showrunner, actor (and East Bay native!) of the Starz TV show Blindspotting - Rafael Casal back on the mic. We got to catch up with him about the season 1 spin off series of the film with the same name, talking about an equitable writers room, shooting in Oakland, filming during a pandemic, power structures on set, and working in choreography into a television dramedy. Plus we talk about the cast which is phenomenal...HELLO, Helen Hunt is a goddamn cast member - DUH.

It's been cool to see how one of our favorite films about Oakland and the Bay get to see a longer shelf life and turn itself into an episodic series to reach more folks. We're also stoked to continue our podcast relationship with Rafa. It's always a joy to have him on the show.
