Welcome to our international Basic Bitch with Anna Mangelsdorf, an artist in Germany, and Lizi Nachum, a teacher in Israel. With all of the issues going on in our country, it's easy to be stuck inside our bubbles. We wanted to get some different perspectives from people just like us, only on the other side of the world. We discuss the difference in our country's response to Covid-19, and their country's protests in support of Black Lives Matter. Anna shares how Germany has dealt with the stigma of Nazism and WW2, and how meeting Lizi (the first Jewish person she ever met) on a trip to Guatemala changed her life. We were so grateful to these ladies for their honesty on such complicated topics. Our conversation went so well, we had to break it into 2 episodes! Be on the lookout for part 2 when Lizi shares a traumatizing experience while traveling through the US, and how volunteering for an organization in Israel helped change her perspective on who we are taught is the enemy, and why.
