Herb Bischoff shares with Mike Chmielewski about his recent trip to Uganda and Madagascar.
The trip getting to Uganda and Madagascar is arduous, with extended hours on a plane, but Herb feels it is more than worth the time and trouble. Herb works with Global Builders, which is a part of the Fuller Center for Housing. They set up the trips and finance the building. Once in the country, local hosts assist with setting up everything, including transportation and meals. Herb says that at the building site, you might be asked to dig trenches, cut rebar, mix mortar, and use that mortar to build walls. The trips are 7-10 days long, and anyone interested should visit the website at fullercenter.org. There are projects all over the world, and even here in the United States.
