"The way we create significance is by creating the conditions for people to make promises and keep them. To create the conditions for people to do work that they're proud of. The best job they ever had. If it's not the best you ever had, you get a better offer, you're gonna leave! What makes it the best job is that there's a journey, a quest, a mission. The way we talk to each other, the way we are trusted, that makes it the best job we ever had. The bosses that are insisting that people come back to work in an office so they can put them under surveillance, I think you need to do that if you have a bakery, cause you can't bake from home. But, in general, I think if we're working with ideas, distributive work is so much more efficient and so capable of magic, that it's a mistake to walk away from it."
