WTOP Entertainment Reporter Jason Fraley says tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of The Temptations recording their classic hit “Papa Was a Rollin' Stone” on May 9th, 1972. The lead singer at the time was Dennis Edwards, who replaced David Ruffin as The Temps entered their psychedelic soul era. Jason was fortunate enough to speak with Edwards when the group played D.C.’s Howard Theatre in 2016 — just two years before his death in 2018. (Theme Music: Scott Buckley's "Clarion")
