Episode 014: How to manage your mental health in pregnancy and beyond

Today I'm talking with Nikita about the importance of support during and after pregnancy. 

A note from Nikita:

Hi, I’m Nikita and I am mummy to two, experienced primary school teacher, mental health first aider, breastfeeding peer supporter and founder of Story Sense and Mumma & Me. I live on the beautiful South Devon coast of England. I was a primary school teacher for 7 years before having my little boy. At this point, I found a love of working with babies and learning about their development. Wanting to keep my teaching close to me, I set up Story Sense which are unique sensory story classes which promote a love of books and stories through engaging and exciting activities which run in the South Hams.

Becoming a parent is a daunting time, with so many unknowns. There is so much information out there which can be overwhelming and support can feel hard to accept and reach out for when you are supposed to just 'get on with it.' I created the Mumma & Me Collections to provide support and evidence based information across a whole range of areas from mental health support to 1:1 feeding support, financial support and advice from a professional, key developmental milestones information for your baby or toddler and activity ideas, a range of online baby and toddler classes for you to try at home, music downloads and a singalong to join in with and a friendly and supportive Facebook community where you can continue to ask questions and learn more about you and your developing little one and build a support network of others at the same place on their journey.
