Zacca and Matt take a deep dive into the 5km. They go through race plans, race day tips, mental preparation for that dreaded 4th km, Zacca's favourite stat and the benefits of the 5km. Matt nerds out as he answers a listener question on the benefits of 5km training, when the main goal is the marathon. Where he looks at some of the science behind the benefits. Zacca and Matt also discuss some general pillars of running.


Matt details his week following his 10km time trial. Adjusting the week to up the mileage but reduce the intensity. Following his first Pfizer jab, he feels a little fatigued but manages a split 30min tempo and a solid local long run


Zacca rolls out another consistent week, really turning a corner with a couple of belter sessions. The bread and butter 60min progression run and has a dip over the Threlfall Fartlek.


Zacca and Matt also discuss the Run2PB x The Running Company Yarraville Virtual 5km/10km, that is running from August 21st to September 5th. Where they'll be duking it out again!
