Tom Freeman and I talk about how at 8 years old he found out he was adopted. The answer that his adoptive mother provided didn't bring comfort as he didn't believe it. Instead, the label of adopted filled him with a feeling that would haunt him for years and ultimately left him to discover something to make it feel better booze. However, this story does have an interesting and happy ending.

Living proof that tough choices have incredible outcomes.
I got sober at 46, found my birth family at 50, lived a roller coaster life with incredible stories and highs and lows, and came out living my best life
The results that followed were enough to write a best seller. However, the results that followed led to an even bigger takeaway and that was that there should never be any regrets on my yesterdays, I should experience the hell out of my todays and while I should never be worried about my tomorrows, I am prepared for them.
People ask me all the time, are you ever going to drink again?
My answer is quite simple, “what I have experienced and have yet to discover is much more than any “high” I could experience and there is nothing for me to “escape” from anymore.
I don’t preach sobriety, I discuss opportunities because one led to the other in my situation.
I don’t know if this fits your show but while neither defines me, this work in progress, self-improvement, is how I live my life.
No regrets on yesterday, experience the hell out of today, and to always be prepared for what my tomorrow may bring.
