52 Matteo Tagliariol – Olympic Fencing Champion

Matteo Tagliariol won gold in fencing at the 2008 Olympics and is this week’s guest on the Best in the World with Richard Parr. 

Matteo explains to Richard why he doesn’t have any role models, why he set his goals from an early age and why he collects owls. 

The Italian fencer won the men’s epee event in Beijing and beautifully describes the moment he won gold.  

We also get an insight into how he prepares both mentally and physically for competitions.
