We all know the feeling of chaos, overwhelm, or things spinning out of control…. being caught in “the mess”. It’s not a good place to be and we often find ourselves feeling emotions such as frustration, irritation, sadness, anger, or anxiousness.
In this episode, we’re talking about how to navigate the “mess”, by restoring calm to ourselves and transforming the way we respond to these situations moving forward. I’ll share a process that includes 4-Steps to help you recognize these situations, choose a perspective that moves you forward, use calming tools, and get into the next small action step. By practicing this repeatedly, we rewire our nervous system by forging new neural pathways that make it easier for us to shift into this response the next time we face a messy situation.
In doing this, we're able to move away from a stressed state and into a state of parasympathetic nervous system activation. In this state, you are able to think and act from a position of strength and clarity. In this way, you control your perspective and the emotions that follow, despite the chaos going on around you.
