032_BWYR in twelve simple steps (Chapter Two, Episode #3) "We have come to believe"
Become Who You Are in twelve simple steps. Rediscovering Abundance, meaning and purpose, in a world gone mad.
"God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us." (I John 4:16)
Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. (Step 2 of the twelve steps)
What do you believe? In anything? In everything?

1. Start each morning with prayer! Include the Lords Prayer and this meditation:
Meditation on the Lord's Prayer suggested in todays podcast: Our Daily Bread
Give us this day our daily bread. This petition comes from a sense of dependence upon our Father. A child needs his daily sustenance in order to grow. In this world we need strength, fortitude, perseverance, all sorts of things both material and spiritual. And so we ask our Father for what is necessary for every moment of natural life and, still more, supernatural life. This is a willing dependence, not a grudging acceptance of a fact that we know is true….
And so we have confidence in our Father. This childlike trust is another characteristic of a true disciple of the Only Begotten Son, who is growing into his likeness. It rests on faith and hope and love and does not depend on natural motives at all. The child of God has that attitude which leads him to insist that even if he could live without his Father’s help, he would still prefer to be dependent on him for everything, as in truth he is. So he is both truthful in acknowledging his own helplessness and eager to accept that condition.
According to the teaching of our Master, we must keep our eyes on this day, not looking too much into the future with its possible problems, dangers, and needs. We know that our Father will continue to care for us after this day, and we ask with confidence, as a child does its human father, knowing that he can and will supply all our needs. Thus we shall learn to resist the temptation to be agitated about the future, we shall live for this day, and in no better way could we express our implicit trust in our Father.

2. Take one day at a time. Give something up for just 24 hours and offer it for an intention that is on your heart. Every time you are tempted "open" your heart and the temptation itself to Jesus. You will discover the power in this simple offering and of uniting a little of your own suffering to His.
3. Having received the gift of grace, now BECOME a sincere gift to someone today! Go out of your way to be kind to your spouse, children, neighbor...make a call to someone who could use a connection. BE that connection.
4. Practice Lectio Divina: Simply start by reading the Gospel for the next day. Meditate on a word or phrase that strikes you. Pray. Listen. (Visit www.jp2renew.org under resources for more information. We recommend the "Magnificat" App or print subscription for daily Scripture and Meditations.
