#107: A frank discussion on Masks, Covid, and CRT with Deacon Gerald-Marie Anthony

Join Jack and special guest Deacon Gerald-Marie Anthony as they discuss Deacon Anthony's latest articles on Covid-19, Critical Race Theory and Racial Healing.  

Deacon Anthony is a theologian, author, and apologist who has taught the Catholic faith for over twenty years. He is a prolific writer, author and the Director of Religious Education at Saint Timothy Catholic Church in Arlington Virginia. He received his B.A. in Theology from Christendom College and his M.A. in Theology from the Catholic Distance University.  

A Renewed Look at Pastoral Freedom Concerning COVID-19,  by Deacon Anthony....Refocusing the United States on the Light of Christ

• For the CDC website to show that it is updated: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/different-vaccines.html 
• The actual "Fact Sheet" I was reading from today: http://labeling.pfizer.com/ShowLabeling.aspx?id=14472&format=pdf   (note p. 3 which says the "duration of protection against Co-Vid 19 is unknown") comes right from the Pfizer website which is connected to the CDC
• Other things of note:
  • Diabolein vs Symbalein
    • Greek root of the word “diabolical” (diabolein) means to cut, tear, or divide.
    • Symbalein means to bring together, gather up, union
    • As noted, all of these theories divide (white vs non-white, privilege/oppressor vs non-privileged/oppressed, vaccinated vs non-vaccinated, etc.) and are being used as the tools of the devil as they are tearing up the one flesh of the Mystical body the Church where there should be a united body, as St. Paul says "There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all" (Eph. 4:4-6).   We are all called to be united in and under Christ!  This is why we much proclaim the truth, promote the good, and uphold the dignity of every person. 
  • Freudian Principle vs Eucharistic Principle
    • Freudian Principle:  "This is your body given up for me".   You exist and should do things so that I feel comfortable EVEN IF IT VIOLATES YOUR CONSCIENCE AND MAKES YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE.  
    • Eucharistic Principle:  "This is my body given up for you."    I exist so I can uphold your conscience and dignity.   I won't ask you to violate yourself for me because that is not love, but lust (using another for MY good).  
    • You must get the shot because it makes ME feel better.  As compared to medical directives which you make your own medical decisions and you do what is best for you.  Not manipulation, but informed consent.
