Lambasted. Persecuted. Jailed. At first glance, the book of Acts seems to be the story of Paul and Silas’ struggle to unite a diverse, scattered and disconnected group of Jesus followers. Afterall, what do you do when you're caught between the powers of the Roman empire and following God into the NEW that God imagines? However, the book of Acts is so much more. For it is here we are witness to the crumbling of the empire from within and a rule of faith for us all.
Join us as our Member-In-Discernment, ellie Hutchison, continues our sermon series, "Then What?" exploring the challenges and triumphs of the early church and its lessons for us today. Listen and explore the template of care the book of Acts signifies, and what it means to care for others and for ourselves. Discover its capacity to goad and prod us to feel uncomfortable in order that we might yield to the Spirit within us and be driven to feel, to care, and to love.
