The Movie Toy Story is really a LOVE STORY.  Or more accurately, a LONGING to be LOVED story.  Woody and the rest of the toys desire to be loved by Andy; to be OWNED by him.  Literally, they most desire that he WRITE HIS NAME ON THEM.
