Paul makes the charge that we should be living single-heartedly, whether we are married or single.  He wants us to be a little less of a divided heart or distracted.  

There is an endorsement of both singleness or being married.  But keep in mind, the time is short, and that effects our relationship with spouses, emotions, stuff and the world.
