Once upon a time, comedians Fiona Ridgewell & Louise Atkinson started a podcast exploring fairy tales, folklore, myths, and legends. But, these aren't the nice, fluffy versions of the stories everyone knows and loves. They're the original, darker, sordid ones from long ago.
On this episode of the Be Fairy Afraid Podcast, Fiona & Louise read the classic Japanese ghost story 'The Goblin of Adachigaharaby Yei Theodora Ozaki. A story about a cannibal goblin in the shape of an old woman living on the plain of Adachigahara; who lures a Buddhist pilgrim in need of refuge into her home.
Louise & Fiona also talk about smart meters, Fi & Lou's encounter at a comedy gig, and body hair removal.
Give it a listen and please like & subscribe on YouTube, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Now, in the words of Giambattista Basile, from his story The Enchanted Doe - shut your mouths, open your ears, and hear what I shall tell you.
Hope you enjoy! :-)
