We seem to pay more attention to what we don’t have than what we do. People want something different than their current circumstance.
What do you wish wasn’t so? It can be as big as your job or as small as your fingernails. We use energy wishing that something wasn’t so, negative energy, fighting against reality.
I’m not scolding you or myself; we all want things we don’t have at times.
What if instead of indulging our desire to stop change, we embrace what is reality? When things are sad or hard, we naturally wish it wasn’t so. But after that initial feeling we may do better to accept it.
There is a time to turn from how you wish things were to what really is now. In the stages of grief, the last stage is acceptance. It isn’t closure which is having things all tied up neat.
Be Encouraged podcast is practical, in the moment, thoughtful encouragement.
