My friend with heart problems is using awareness of the present moment to help him. For him, being in the moment is calming and helps answer anxiety’s call to worry. He’s getting medical care but he wants life be more than trips to doctors and taking pills.
What worries do you have? What comes to mind that especially troubles you? You can develop some tools to help make things more manageable.
Having problems to be solved is everyone’s lot in life but worrying about them is optional. When they come to mind, pause, and listen. Just listen to the sounds of life around you.
The rhythm of life includes many hard things. What we don’t want to do is to give over control to the hard things by letting them dominate our minds. Take care of what you must, but what is out of your control, let go.
