This week we're talking about the Crown Chakra, or Sahasrasa Chakra, or the Lotus of a Thousand Petals (I like Lotus of a Thousand Petals). Otherwise known as the portal of energy and white-purple ecstasy light that sits atop your head and radiates outward into the Universe, connecting your own discrete energy centers with the infinitely renewing energy centers of the cosmos.

In the words of Pandit Vamadeva Shastri:
"The thousand-petal lotus of the head or the crown chakra is the highest of the seven chakras. It contains the powers of all the chakras below it, which can be viewed as different aspects or facets of its energy. From the standpoint of modern science we can call this chakra of the head as the “inner brain” or “spiritual brain,” the essence of intelligence, which is reflected in a limited manner in the outer workings of the physical brain."

In other words, sit your nexus of potential energy down in half lotus and get ready for blast off, because we be riding the kundalini snake of connective and restorative cosmic bliss this week.
