The Seer of Alexandria | Hypatia

Hypatia (c. 350-415 AD) was a renowned philosopher, mathematician, and astronomer in ancient Alexandria. As the daughter of the mathematician Theon, she was educated in various intellectual disciplines. Hypatia became the head of the Platonist school in Alexandria, where she taught and inspired many students. Her tragic murder by a mob of Christian zealots marked the decline of intellectual pursuits in Alexandria.
