In October 2009, Kimberly Cates and her daughter Jaimie were sleeping peacefully in the master bedroom of their family’s remote New Hampshire home. At around 4:00 a.m., four teen boys crept into the dark house and attacked the mother and daughter as they slept. It was a night of horror that reminds us all that sometimes there’s nothing you can do to prevent the worst things from happening.
