Alex Heckler was born on August 18, 1989 with Down Syndrome and a deep passion for Broadway musical theatre. He cultivated his obsession with these wonderful musicals by attending every musical on Broadway that he could get tickets to. He attended Pennridge High School in Pennsylvania and graduated from the Chapel Haven Schliefter Center where he majored in Theatre. With his degree in hand, he lives independently and continues to enjoy musical theatre. In his career, he has had roles in productions of Fiddler On The Roof as Tevya’s father, a bartender and a bagel salesman, and he was an integral part of the townspeople chorus in Bye Bye Birdie and Beauty And The Beast. He is an inspiration to his family and everyone he meets. I am grateful to know and love him and I wish him the happiest of birthday’s on this episode of Backstory Song where he will share with us some of his favorite Broadway musical songs.
