Avenue Red Podcast #171 - Chryslsm

Avenue Red is proud to present a newcomer to the podcast series who is a Berlin-based PhD student, a music collector, curator, DJ and also a co-founder of [IAS] https://soundcloud.com/intrinsic-audio-sessions Intrinsic Audio Sessions podcast. Enter Chryslsm (real name Joshua Martin), who is originally from Cape Town, one of the three capital cities of South Africa.

Chryslsm is well-known throughout the underground world of deep, dubby, techy and ambient music stylings that Avenue Red largely centres upon. His SoundCloud page is loaded with swathes of incredible deep mixes, expertly crafted by a man with discerning taste in a broad spectrum of music. The same can be said for his IAS podcast, a project that draws many parallels with Avenue Red, which has been running almost the same length of time and has many guests in common.

Here Joshua shows his clear sky thinking and pure distilled focus in creating an eye-opening journey through deep, dubbed-out house & techno that is logical, progressive, smooth-flowing and full of dazzling soundscapes. It is soaked in melancholy, full of edgy, pulsating rhythms and it is groovy as hell. A real heads-down mix to zone out to as we sink into the atmospheric autumn/winter months.
