Avenue Red Podcast #139 - Sputnik

For Avenue Red Podcast episode 139 we welcome Leeds-born and bred selector Barry Duke AKA Sputnik. Without doubt he is one the finest electro pilots out there, having a knowledge of the genre that is as vast as his music collection. Technically adept, his mixes are always fluid, free-flowing and exciting strides through the wilderness of true underground electro and techno, both old and new.

"I'm a Leeds-based DJ who predominately plays techno and electro and has spun at various Leeds nights including the much-missed, by those who used to attend, Detatched, Future-Past, Tensile, Bistro Techno and Axiom. I've been a follower of Avenue Red for a few years now and was thinking of creating (or is it 'curating' nowadays?) a Detroit-flavoured mix that would fit in with the vibe I was getting from the mixes I'd listened to. I was hoping Alec would like the mix and host it.

Pre-empting recording a mix on the off-chance, Alec messaged me and asked if I would like to get involved on his podcast. He'd been listening to my recent electro mixes and asked if I'd like to contribute a similar mix for Avenue Red.
