For Avenue Red Podcast 137 we welcome Amsterdam selector Micha Lensink, who has delivered a vinyl-only mix of grooving dancefloor-friendly 4/4 records. The label "tech house" has been grotesquely misappropriated over the past decade, however in the case of this mix it's the perfect description for the selection of sounds featured.
Micha boldly joins the dots between disparate tracks with a variety of different moods and atmospheres, constantly mixing old with new to show his intellect, skill and panache as a DJ who can really hold a groove. Get it downloaded and carry it with you at all times! Share it and repost it on Soundcloud to help get it out there to show people what real tech house sounds like ;)
"I've been around working in the background of Amsterdam's club scene for some 5 years now, most notably Cruquiusgilde and BRET and hosting my own (after)parties with Raftaf. After years of absorbing impressions and music like a sponge I'm starting to step out of the shade and focusing more on playing myself.
The mix I sent is recorded after one of those endless summer nights at a private afterhours. It consists of a lot of deep goodies from the mid 90's to early 00's that still sound incredibly fresh, mixed with some more contemporary stuff I discovered lately." Micha Lensink, August 2019
