Avenue Red 1210 Mk2 - Graham Pitt

The second Avenue Red 1210 episode comes from Nottingham-based DJ and general house music purveyor Graham Pitt, who has been a vinyl junkie for over 20 years and now runs online music blog Dream Drums. We noticed that he is responsible for a steady stream of online output with his own high-quality selections and some interesting underground guests featured. Graham has his own Dream Drums show every Sunday at 15:00 (GMT) on www.deepvibes.co.uk and is also a resident at Hull-meets-Chicago house label Freche Früchte for their mixshows on Deepvibes Radio and SceenFM.

The mix is saturated in deep, percussive, jacking 90's house flavour from a list of artists and labels who always struggled to disappoint. We even have a twist of deep acid from Bobby Konders, a nice 'n' spacey disco-tinged groove in the form of a Faze Action dub of D*Note and also a rare, swinging deep 4/4 oddity from a Musique Tropique reinterpretation of Two Lone Swordsmen. Nagual's "Feel The Rhythm" on Prescription is an absolute killer tune that may remind you of a better known version by Ron Trent that was later released on the label on an EP titled "The Nature Of Retribution". A very expensive record these days that is in dire need of a repress we feel.

Another thing... can anyone ID the 11th track with the "Is it sex or is it love?" vocal sample? Graham believes it may be a Lil Louis release but we have been unable to verify this. Drop a comment with the details if you know the ID! Enjoy the mix, and please follow us and share it on!
