The master regulator of protein translation, mTORC, is itself regulated by the stress-induced AMPK pathway. Rapamycin and semi-selective drugs regulating  AMPK may reduce glioblastoma progression and this observation helps to advance a theory for healthy longevity that requires a reduction in anabolism.
