This is an episode where I talk about laying the foundation in our life to be able to reach our goals and sustain them once we get there. I discuss the 10 principles that I believe are super important to a solid foundation in your life. Also, I give you the questions I ask myself in regard to each principle.

Principles 1-5 come from this article:

  • Food - How does the food I am eating make my body feel?
  • Water - Am I drinking half my bodyweight in ounces of water every day?
  • Sleep - Am I getting at least 7 hours of sleep? How is the quality of my sleep? Am I going to sleep and waking up around the same time every day?
  • Shelter - Do I have a safe place to live?
  • Clothing - Do I have clothes to wear? How do the clothes that I wear make me feel?

Principles 6 - 10 are principles that I came up with:

  • Mental Health - Am I doing something every day to support my mental health? What are 3 things that I am grateful for that happened today?
  • Movement - Am I moving my body for at least 30 minutes every day?
  • Fun - Have I done something fun today?
  • Connection - Have I connected with anyone today? Who could I reach out to?
  • Environment - Physical clutter is a manifestation of mental clutter. What is one thing that I could tidy up to keep my environment filled with less clutter?

Remember, choose ONE thing to start with when strengthening your foundation. Make one small change at a time. Once you have sustained the one small change, THEN you can build from there.

Remember that, you are worthy. You have value. You get to take up space in this world simply because you exist. Don’t let anyone, including yourself, convenience you otherwise. If that idea or vision for your life is in you, then it is for you.
