Journalist Michael Connelly And Filmmaker Alison Ellwood Release The Wonderland Massacre

THE WONDERLAND MASSACRE & THE SECRET HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD is based on the Audible podcast of the same name by writer Michael Connelly (Bosch, The Lincoln Lawyer). This series dives further into Connelly's investigation of the July 1, 1981 Wonderland massacre, one of Hollywood's most famous murder cases that has fascinated people for more than 40 years. This series builds upon the podcast's archival footage of the events and interviews with Scott Thorson, the only surviving* witness on the murder night and the once boyfriend of Liberace and adds additional testimonies and interviews from detectives and prosecutors involved with the case. It is the first and only time that Scott has told his full story on screen (*Note: Thorson has since unexpectedly passed a few weeks ago, making this story more timely than ever). This gritty and fast paced series is directed and produced by Alison Ellwood (San Francisco Sounds, Laurel Canyon) and executive produced by Nick Gilhool and Jen Casey of One Traveler Productions. As one of the pivotal eras of the Los Angeles sex, drugs and rock n' roll scene, the series' events have often been referenced throughout pop culture, most famously by Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights.
