On this episode, Tomi speaks to Letha Whitham, a runner originally from the North East, who has travelled around the world and spent the last 4 years in New Zealand running and competing in marathons.
She talks about the running scene in the southern hemisphere - trail, track and road - and she talks about the competition.
Throughout her time down in New Zealand, Letha would regularly hit 70 km weeks and be in constant marathon shape. Today we dive into what her mindset is and why she is able to maintain a high consistency in training.
This consistency was brought through to training in lockdown with no race prospects upon returning to the UK. Letha talks about why she stayed consistent throughout 2020 wit a very positive perspective.
2021 has been different for Letha as she's had to stop training as she is getting ready to give birth. Being a new journey for Letha, she talks about how she has coped with decreasing training and how she hopes to get back into it.
We talk all about her goals and her hopes to break 3 in the marathon!
