Dat Nguyen’s story began with a journey of escape and hope. In 1975, his pregnant mother fled Vietnam with his father and siblings, making the courageous voyage to America while carrying Dat in her womb. From those humble beginnings, he rose to become an All-American at Texas A&M and a standout linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys — a true embodiment of resilience, gratitude and the American Dream. Today, Dat owns and operates the Chick-fil-A in Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth. In this episode, he reflects on the values forged through his remarkable journey, the mindset football instilled in him and the life-changing impact of support from 12th Man Foundation donors.
