Also, this "new two" men's rivalry is now officially on fire, with Sinner the winner, and now they've won 7 straight!
So, what do we make of this guy? Super talented, pretty quirky, and really unpredictable. But maybe, just maybe Bublik is ready to get serious about doing some serious winning!
And...quick, who's the last guy NOT named Alcaraz or Sinner to win a major? Took you a second there, didn't it?
If this is the new era, the new "it rivalry" in men's tennis, then we are blessed. Carlitos and Jannik put on a show for the ages, and Wilander was front row for the spectacle.
Also...Coco's brand appeal is skyrocketing, as she takes down the great Sabalenka, in a ladies final that wasn't too shabby in its own right
She's fierce, and she is coming on strong. Peyton Stearns was a 3rd set TB-winning machine on her way to the Italian semis. Good news for the American women on clay!
And..."hey Mats, how do you enjoy being treated like tennis royalty while in Europe?"
"Well, it reminds my wife that at one time in my life I wasn't a complete dumba$$!"

It almost feels like it was the stone age, since Mats won his 2nd French back in '85. So much has changed in 40 years, but maybe...just maybe some things have stayed the same.
And..."hey Jonny, if Mats doesn't get tripped up by Chesnokov in the quarters in '89, is it possible, perhaps even PROBABLE that Chang doesn't win that lone major?"

It doesn't happen often, certainly not to Grigor. But yes, he got double-bagel'd in Monte Carlo in 44 minutes. Says Wilander, "trust me, it happens to the best of us!"
