EP 126 Of The Sun

Patrick with Of The Sun joins me for a conversation about the project. Pattern Rebirth brings forth some Progressive Death Metal hosting guests such a Bryce Butler (Shadow of Intent), Jacob Umansky (Intervals) and Rom Gov (Black Satellite).

"'Pattern Rebirth' is a prism of revolutionary art conveyed through the lens of 4 separate stories in the form of progressive death metal. The first two songs are definite and cling to their established themes, but the songs beyond the halfway mark are written to take on dual meaning. The arrangement of songs moves as a process of transformation, symbolized mainly by how I wield my vocals over the span of the record, and the common thread tying it all together... of seizing the systems of control to the advantage of all... of actualizing a pattern rebirth, a structural and systemic evolution... is presented only as a potential outcome of things considered. Nothing is hard-set. The pattern rebirth could just as easily be a repetition of the conditions holding us down. With their stylistic versatility and command over their instruments, Jacob Unmansky, Bryce Butler, and Rom Gov breathe fire into this music, and I'm so damn grateful to work with these guys.
