Ashleigh Dixon and Nicole Stickle are forensic DNA scientists in Richland Co Sheriff's Office Crime Lab. On a daily basis they are examining evidence, conferring with investigators, processing evidence, and preparing for court testimony to explain and defend the findings they obtain in their DNA processing.


So they are prefect to ask questions like What is a reference sample? What enables forensic DNA scientists to say with a high degree of certainty that a reference sample matches the DNA evidence collected off of items found at the crime scene?
