Episode 72: Oli’s Squidding

This week we are joined by Oli Wood from Oli’s Squidding Page on Instagram and Youtube to discuss all things Cephalopods. Oli gives us some of his tips for maximising our squidding, including lure selection, some of his favourite locations and his retrieval technique. We also discuss his new Kayak and how he fishes with this, his experience fishing the flats for Yellowfin Whiting and some of his encounters with Kingfish off various jetties around the state.

A lot of this weeks news centres around the flood water coming through the Murray system including:

·      New zones for boating and fishing restrictions along the Murray

·      How far is the freshwater extending into the Ocean. 

·      A mass Sealife kill at Port Elliott

Plus we discuss the upcoming SA Spearfishing State Championships and applications are open for the next group of Ambassadors for Reeling in Junior Anglers. 

We also give a recount of our day fishing for Tuna and Kingfish with Andrew Harris, discuss some of our favourite features on his boat, discuss Rohdeys whiting fishing and scalloping from the New Years weekend and update all the other fishing around the state.
