Coach Brent Barnes: Head Coach Lake Stevens High School Wrestling

Coach Brent Barnes has been a parent/teacher/coach for 36 years, and was hugely influential in my development as a young man. Him and his staff introduced me to the sport of wrestling, and with it I began to learn just how shallow my mental toughness was. Luckily for me Coach Barnes continually instilled in me the idea of mindset and mental toughness which I am using today more than ever!

Coach Barnes is highly recognized in the sport of wrestling: 

- NFHS National Coach of the Year
- Washington State Coach of the Year
- 6x USA Wrestling World Team Coach
- Coached 12 State Championship Teams (I was on 3)
- Coached multiple individual National Champions

But what I recognized him for is far greater than any of the previously aforementioned acknowledgements.
