Learned to have fun, work hard, and be a leader at an early age

-Columbia Country is a huge commuter county where roughly 75% of people do not work in the county

-Keep it local Columbia County wanted to keep everyone on one page

-The Ford Foundation helped as well. 

[12:45] Created a directory for all of the businesses in Columbia County

-This helps to advertise businesses for free

-Try to keep money in Columbia County 

[14:00] What are businesses feeling during the Covid-19 pandemic

-Some are ready to open and some are still trying to figure everything out. 

[15:40] What are some simple ways that business can reach out to customers in this time? 

-SBA, Chamber of Commerce, and social media are some great ways.

-Create a niche. Do not be a broad business.

-Wear a name tag when you are out and about. 

-Metal or wood business cards.

-Get your car wrapped

-Needed to create a good marketing campaign and get everyone on the same page. Both business owners and patrons. 

-Also needed to get away from talking to people in a scripted way and become “one of them.”

-You need to know the script to break the script

-Conversational tone is the best way to win over your potential customers

-They need to work on their business and not in their business as much. 

-Need to connect with others in the industry
