From 6.4 million in 2000 to 14 million in 2021, there is a growing army of out-of-school children in Nigeria which have their bases in 2 major areas of the country - the North and the South South/South East. Dropout rate in primary schools across the country is put at 30%, while only 54% transit to Junior Secondary Schools.
In the South East, the number of boys shunning school is alarmingly on the increase. Is there a future that these children and parents are seeing that has not been revealed to the government and other stakeholders?
