#040 Troubled Waters: There is a Perfect Storm on the Horizon

About 10 years ago, Annette and her son and I were sitting in a small cafe in some far corner of Costa Rica. Her son Erik was still very young at the time and this was his first trip out of the country. As we were sitting at the table looking at the menu, Erik proclaimed, “I want a glass of orange juice.” I informed him that he could not have a glass of orange juice because they just don’t have that here” 

It was his first lesson that when you travel outside your home country, you just cannot expect everything to be the same. But, what if you were sitting in a restaurant in the United States and you asked for a glass of water and the response was “Well, we just don’t have that here.” More than likely, that is exactly what could happen in the near future.
