There is one thing that we know for sure, our choices as consumers drive the market place. If consumers demand something or if the demand of the general public is for one specific product or service, then the market changes accordingly to provide for that need. If not, then some savvy marketer will come up with a campaign to convince you of the need for something anyway, even though that may not be the case.

Well, the simple fact is everything you purchase, regardless of what it is, is still going to have some impact on the environment. In fact, everything that you do has some sort of impact on the environment. Even my garden and greenhouse has an impact. It requires the addition of seeds and water. The plants eventually have an impact on the soil which then requires the addition of some organic material. And it also requires my time and energy.

But what is everything we purchased was produced in a sustainable manner? What is we took the time to evaluate all the things that we use everyday? And what would happen if a company did not behave in an environmentally responsible manner we all made the choice  to not purchase their products. Would that not change the market place?

In this episode, I first want to give you some basic background on what exactly defines a sustainable product. Then I will follow that by giving you tips on how to evaluate  a product from the stand point of green, eco-friendly, and sustainability. I will end the episode by giving you a number of tools and resources in order to find businesses that are environmentally responsible.

Always live sustainably because this is how we build a better future.
