During the 1960's and 70's there was a tremendous and powerful social movement in the United States. As many as one million people left their jobs, their educational institutions, and families to transition into a simpler life that was close to nature. This new lifestyle simply fit with their moral values and enabled them to work outside of the "system" that they saw as corrupt.
However, years later, there was a significant and much less popularized "Back From the Land" movement. So, what happened to all of these people. Why did their ideals crumble to the point of forcing them to return to the "system" they so despised.
Furthermore, what can we learn from their experience that will help us build a sustainable future? Listen to this episode to learn what that is.
Always live sustainably because this is how we build a better future.
