Electric Religious and Warrior Women on the SSIMAs

In this episode of Acimowin, Shayna speaks with two nominees of the 2021 Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards (SSIMAs) about their music and nominations. First, we hear from Mackenzie Brown, part of the Cree mother-daughter duo Warrior Women, about the connection between music and culture and their recent nomination for the Youth Leadership in Music award. Next, we hear from Brandon Baker, the Métis singer, songwriter, and guitarist behind Electric Religious, about his upcoming album and nomination for Métis Artist-Group of the Year.
