You all know how I like to talk about how life is 50/50. I believe that life is both black and white. Both, good and bad. Today I’m going to talk to you more about feeling the “bad” parts, but learning how to do so in a productive way.

I want to challenge you to take a step back, and really question, when and why did it become a defining life goal to “be happy” all the time? Society has conditioned us to strive for this unrealistic expectation of getting to a point where we are always going to be feeling joy and just being happy. I’m going to walk you through this ideal that is in most of our heads and invite you to challenge your thinking on why this shouldn’t be the goal, like I do with my clients.

This can open you to a whole new way of thinking, where you can embrace both the bad and the good parts of life. I truly believe that one of the main points of life is learning to fully experience all of your emotions. So many people struggle to do this, it’s time to embrace this change, and I can’t wait to help show you how!

In this episode, I’m sharing with you:

  • Life is 50/50
  • The ideal that our life goal should be to be “happy”
  • It’s time to start questioning it
  • We are going to feel all of the different feelings, but we need to learn how to feel them and experience them fully
  • Give yourself permission to feel
  • The benefit of allowing yourself to truly feel “bad” sometimes
  • It is very common to repress some of your emotions & avoid feeling them
  • I help MANY of my clients on how to identify, feel, and process their emotions
  • Toxic Negativity AND Toxic Positivity
  • It is okay to feel bad
  • Fear of feeling bad
  • Fear that it will slow down their manifestation
  • Resistance to experience those feelings in our body
  • Not allowing these feelings and processing them, creates more resistance
  • Thought work is important, BUT, just slapping a positive thought to mask a negative emotion is not helpful
  • Circumstances are neutral
  • Thoughts about circumstances are what create our feelings
  • We are allowed to feel bad
  • We are allowed to feel good
  • We are allowed to choose our thoughts
  • Productive negativity vs. unproductive negativity
  • Making yourself feel bad, about feeling bad
  • Just because you feel bad, does not mean something has gone wrong
  • Giving yourself a time limit to sit in negative emotions & to process
  • Honoring both the good and bad feelings
