Leadership is a difficult topic. What does leadership mean, how do you do it, and how do you get better at it? We tackle some of these questions in today's podcast.
What I found interesting in this podcast is that Keith's leadership style changed mid career and he saw faster progress because of it. His old leadership style was focused on himself and building his career through the traditional military means of checking the necessary boxes. His switch involved focusing less on himself and more on the people relying on him to lead. He also had to lead by example by getting his metaphorical house in order. Leading with positive character and a posture of service was like adding rocket fuel to his military career.
Keith uses the same principles for leading his family and men's ministry.
My biggest takeaway from this podcast was to lead consistently. I do a great job creating systems and empowering my guys, I just need to consistently follow up because "consistency builds, complacency kills."
