We live in a world that is obsessed with being busy. People wear “busy” like a badge. “Compragging” Bragging masked as complaining. Society seems to expect and pressure us all to be highly productive, hustle (that dreaded H word!), and be in that go-go-go mentality!
The result? We feel exhausted, overworked, underappreciated, underachieving, not good enough. That can lead to self-shaming and other forms of negative self-talk.
We also often feel guilty for resting. We feel restless when resting! We either are so uncomfortable not in doing mode, or simply don’t know how to just be still.
